Situation Analysis:
Safety Management Systems (SMS) is a specialized training facility offering a variety of health, safety, environmental and industrial training solutions. SMS is a 40-acre facility with 15 multimedia classrooms, a computer-based training lab, on-site restaurant, 120 person living quarters, on-site fire school, sea survival training pool, 30-ton pedestal crane and various recreational facilities. Security goals included: perimeter protection, alleviate guard costs, access control monitoring, interactive two-way audio for after hour access, analytics, as well as security and fire alarm coverage.

Solution:
America On Watch in conjunction with a security solutions integrator, completed a comprehensive security assessment and developed a security plan that entailed real-time, remote video monitoring services for the following:

• Three PTZ cameras covering facility’s perimeter
• 22 interior and exterior fixed cameras set on motion control
• Three analytic cameras covering an on-site pond to identify human-specific activity
• Video guard tours
• Video verification of burglar, door and fire alarm events 
• All entrances monitored using advanced access control management
• Two-way intercom for after hour access with all two-way communications recorded and visually verified

Results:
Through remote video monitoring, Acadian helped SMS effectively secure critical assets and saved them more than $6,000 monthly in security guard costs. This solution also eliminated false alarm dispatch by 100%. SMS enjoys secure remote access to the system to view event history and use video footage for quality assurance purposes and to conduct business performance assessments.
